Fall is for Biking and Hiking
August 29, 2018
Fall is the ideal time for biking and hiking in the Minnesota Northwoods. It’s beginning to cool down outside, the leaves are changing and creating a beautiful landscape, and because of the temperature changes, you can start to enjoy your favorite warm beverages.
There are cycling trails all around the area. From paved or dirt trails to highways or quiet country roads, you’re bound to find something that’s right for you. The Chippewa National Forest has 160 miles of trail for non-motorized use. Lake Itasca also has a 20 mile paved trail around it.
The Chippewa National Forest is also an amazing place for hiking. They have 78 miles of hiking trails to offer. They range anywhere from 0.5 to 68 miles. These trails can also be used for cross-country skiing in the winter months. There are six state parks located within the region for hikers to enjoy.
