DISCOVER THE SECRET TO GREAT FISHING IN MINNESOTA NORTHWOODS

Kitchi Lake Is A Great Place To Begin Your Lake Expedition

Located at the northeastern most part of the Cass Lake chain of eight lakes, Kitchi Lake is known both for its accessibility and its remoteness. The Kitchi Creek and Turtle River channels carving through Kitchi Lake give it a varied structure which is great for fishing. Anglers can try their luck at walleye, northern pike, perch, bluegill, crappie, muskie and largemouth bass, among others.

Located entirely within the Chippewa National Forest, Kitchi is a serene lake for fishermen to perfect their sport with access to thousands of acres of great fishing. If the walleye aren’t biting, you can reel in and head north to try your luck on Little and Big Rice Lakes or traverse south to Cass Lake and beyond. Kitchi Lake is also home to two Minnesota Northwoods resorts: Kitchi Landing Resort and Lost Acres Resort.

Kitchi Landing

It’s the fishing that reportedly brings guests back to Kitchi Landing year after year. Fishermen have been happily enjoying a plunder of large pumpkinseed (sunfish) and northern pike at this Minnesota fishing resort. Non-fishing guests enjoy time on the water kayaking, canoeing or jumping on the water trampoline. If you’re an animal lover, Kitchi Landing has pet-friendly cabins.

Lost Acres Resort

Guests at Lost Acres Resort return year after year for the variety of activities organized by the resort, especially for the children. Each year the resort hosts a July 4th kiddie parade, treasure hunt, and pizza party on the lodge’s new patio. Kids also enjoy the variety of playground equipment, sandy swimming beach and water toys. The spacious property enables Lost Acres Resort to host large groups for occasions like family reunions and weddings.

Whether it’s water activities and fishing or friends and family reunions that bring you together, be sure to consider Kitchi Lake when planning your next Minnesota resort vacation. There is sure to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy!
