Winter Wonderland in Minnesota Resorts
February 3, 2017
List after list after list; Articles confirm what we already know: Minnesota is one of the coldest states in the United States. Bone-chilling, teeth-chattering cold. But does that make Minnesota the most “miserable” place to live in the winter? We politely disagree.
Winter in Northern Minnesota is actually beautiful like none other. Watching the snow fall from the cabin window while sipping on warm tea, stepping into a fresh blanket of snow and noticing little deer footprints around the resort ground… It’s so serene.
And come day time? We Minnesotans are too busy with winter activities to be cold! Ice fishing, playing pond hockey, curling, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing... the list goes on and on. Now don’t get us wrong. We long for the warm weather by the lake, too. But rather than complaining about the cold and letting the winter get the best of us, we summon our inner-viking spirit, and make the most of Minnesota winter. Just take a peek at the "Winter Dares" Explore Minnesota is challenging us to!
Here are a few photos from our member resorts to show what Minnesota Northwoods looks like in the dead of winter.
