HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Planning A Northwoods Vacation With All The Comforts Of Home

You’ve heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is.” For guests at Minnesota Northwoods resorts, that statement has never been more true. Guests and owners alike report that the anticipation of seeing repeat clientele year after year becomes more like a home away from home or family reunion than anything else. Once you book your vacation at one of the resorts, you’ll understand why families from all over the country return to northern Minnesota to see their adopted “extended” family.

Dreamers Resort and Campground

Dreamers Resort Cabin

Fishermen staying at Dreamer’s Resort on Big Lake look forward to the good fishing conditions, regardless of what Mother Nature has in store. The resort’s western location on a smaller arm of Big Lake protects it from the wind, which can sometimes make the rest of the lake hard to fish. Guests return year after year for the peace and quiet and the unsurpassed beauty of the sun setting over Big Lake.

Finn ‘N Feather Resort

Finn ‘N Feather Resort Watertoy

Just down the road is Finn ‘N Feather Resort which has been owned and operated by the same family since 1978. Guests with children thoroughly enjoy the kid-friendly atmosphere of the resort whose amenities include a playground, pool, pickle ball and volleyball courts and a game room. The large swimming beach overlooking Lake Andrusia offers a wide variety of water toys and boat rentals.

Joe’s Lodge

Joe's Lodge Dock

A handful of guests at Joe’s Lodge recently celebrated 50 years of returning to the same vacation spot. Located on a scenic point on Lake Andrusia, Joe’s Lodge offers 20 cabins including two which can comfortably accommodate 12-15 people. The Joe’s Lodge webcam has become a popular attraction for guests who like to keep an eye on the resort in the off season.

Each resort’s cabins provide most of the day-to-day items you need (except for toiletries and towels), so no need to pack the kitchen sink! Plan to start your own family’s tradition at a Minnesota Northwoods resort. We promise you’ll be back year after year to reunite with the guests you’ll soon consider “family” at your new “home away from home.”
