Summers spent in the Minnesota Northwoods with family and friends are unbeatable! The adventures are endless. Whether you want to explore the outdoors or check out local entertainment options, the Northwoods has something for everyone.

Our summers are perfect for many outdoor recreation activities, including those on the lake. Head out to one of our many lakes, whether it’s at your resort or you explore one of over 400 lakes within a 25 mile radius of Bemidji. If fishing isn’t what you’re looking for, most of our resorts have multiple water toys available for guests to use. They are perfect for kids and adults alike.

If you’re looking to adventure out into the wilderness, you can either venture out to the nature that surrounds your resort, or take a little trip to one of ten forest/recreation areas. Each has unique sights and history to it.

Lake Bemidji State Park is the perfect playground any time of year, especially summer! It offers swimming, birdwatching, hiking, camping, biking, picnicking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and year-round naturalist-led activities. Hikers can explore the beauty of a tamarack bog carpeted with showy lady’s slippers, pitcher plants, dragon’s mouth, grass pink, and insect-eating sundews. Most flowers are blooming in the bog during late spring and early summer.

The unique boardwalk into the quiet, mysterious world of a spruce-tamarack bog offers visitors a rare chance to view orchids, mosses, and insect eating plants. Some family favorites are swimming, fishing for walleye on Lake Bemidji, 14 miles of hiking, 5 miles of biking, and 9 miles of skiing and snowshoeing.

Outdoor activities aren’t the only thing the Minnesota Northwoods has to offer! Other entertainment options in the area guarantee never-ending fun!
